The Yogant Foundation, amidst a sea of commercially driven yoga, builds its reputation on commitment to yogic principles and authenticity. It offers a complete lifestyle immersion at the foundation, beyond the typical tourist ‘yoga and retreat’ package.
Yogic lifestyle immersion is not what you will find at most ashrams. At The Yogant Foundation, you will experience a Journey beyond just a vacation. It’s a structured guide to reverse the outwardly conscious and modern way of living by bringing the focus back through an immersive practice. Internal discipline is the focus and is the basis of yoga.
This is what really differentiates the foundation at this retreat. Other options may offer yoga and modern comforts, or be a simple place to stay. The Yogant Foundation is centered on the combination of depth and practice. For the true yogic seeker, this is the right place to experience the true and powerful holistic yoga in the birthplace of yoga.
Balyogi Premvarni Ji is remembered as a humble spiritual teacher whose life was devoted to yoga, meditation and self discovery. From an early age he was attracted to spiritual learning and elected the way of discipline rather than comfort. Then he went to Rishikesh and the Himalayan region, where he spent years studying, meditating and learning from experienced masters.
His teachings were unique for their simplicity. He didn't just present yoga as a physical exercise. For him yoga was a complete way of life that helped people understand their thoughts, emotions, body and inner self. Instead of looking for instant results, he exhorted his students to practise with patience, honesty and regularity.
Through meditation, pranayama, silence and spiritual guidance Balyogi Premvarni Ji inspired many seekers to live with greater awareness and peace. His words were soft but his message was strong: growth starts within.
People connected with yoga and spirituality continue to draw inspiration from his life even today. His commitment, humility and service teach us that a life of purpose is created through discipline, kindness and an authentic pursuit to understand oneself deeply, distinctly and honestly every day.
Build your life purposefully with Yogant Foundation, with well-crafted courses and retreats. Whether your goal is to deepen your yoga practice, enhance your wellbeing or explore more avenues of self-development – each program includes expert guidance, inspiring and nurturing learning and immersion in practical wisdom that creates authenticity for sustainable change into everyday life.

Explore spiritual wisdom, yoga practices, and mindful living
Rishikesh has earned its reputation as one of the world’s most meaningful places to practise yoga. The city is situated on the banks of Ganga and the foot of the Himalayas which creates a peaceful environment for contemplation. Many retreats involve yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, simple vegetarian cuisine and time away from the distractions of everyday life. You will find traditional ashrams as well as more comfortable wellness centres, so there is something for every kind of traveller. People come to Rishikesh not just to get flexible, but to slow down and reset their routine and get in touch with themselves on a deeper level.
Most travellers will find that the best time to join a yoga retreat in Rishikesh is between September and April, when the weather is generally pleasant and makes the morning yoga, meditation, walks and sightseeing much easier. October, November, February, and March are especially popular because the days are mild and the skies are often clear. Winter mornings can feel quite cold, so warm layers are useful in December and January. May and June are hot, and July and August bring monsoon rain and humidity. The best time to visit is determined by if you prefer cooler weather, fewer people or a quieter, cheaper retreat.
Yes, most of the yoga retreats in Rishikesh are friendly for beginners and no prior experience is required. And because you do not need to be flexible or strong (and do not have any yoga poses in your repertoire before landing). Good educators are explicit about what each movement is, have regressions and progressions available, and allow people to operate at their own pace. Most retreats for beginners emphasis breathing, equilibrium, rest including fundamentals alignment together with feeling self-assured. It is helpful to inform the instructor of any prior injuries, pain or health problems. We are not looking for perfect performance; To train safely, to feel held and create a practice appropriate to your body.
A typical day on retreat often begins early with meditation, breathing exercises or a gentle yoga session. After class guests usually have a light vegetarian breakfast and some time to rest. The afternoon may include yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, a wellness workshop, journaling, sightseeing or quiet personal time. Later there is often another yoga class followed by meditation, chanting, sound healing or group reflection. Dinner is usually served early so everyone can relax and sleep well. Every retreat has a slightly different schedule, so it is worth checking the daily timetable before you book to make sure the pace feels right for you.
A majority of yoga retreat packages in Rishikesh are inclusive of accommodation, daily yoga classes, meditation, pranayama and vegetarian buffet meals. Many places also offer Ayurveda consultations, massage, sound healing, nature walks or local sightseeing as well cooking classes or airport transfers. However, the specifics can differ greatly from one retreat to another. Ask for a clear itinerary of what is served and what has an extra charge before booking. Are Taxes, Laundry, private prescriptions, Yoga mats and Transfer + extra nights included? A retreat should clearly tell you about its services, schedule, teachers, facilities and cancellation policy in such a way that you know exactly how the experience will be.
Bring along some comfortable, loose-fitting clothes for yoga and meditation. A few tops, a couple of loose trousers, light shawl, walking shoes, sandals and sleep wear. Pack warm layers if travelling during winter and a rain jacket in monsoon season. Such as: sunscreen, insect repellent (as a mosquito repellent), toiletries in quantities for five days, prescribed medications, duly organized reusable water bottle with lid, portable charger (for phone) and travel adapter converter(s) all our electricity discussion little first aid kit. Before loading your own yoga mat and props, check whether the retreat does. Store copies of your passport, visa, insurance and booking to avoid carrying unnecessary jewellery or valuables with you.
Easy to travel on your own (even Rishikesh—not only popular with women but also solo travellers even so one must always be sensible). Select a retreat that has real reviews, private rooms available, verified contact information and trustworthy land transport assistance. Inquire if there are personnel at nights and whether valuables can be stored securely. Steer clear of dark and deserted areas, hail only licensed taxis, and let someone know your travel plans. Simple clothes are only worn in the temples, ashrams and local neighbourhoods. The city is welcoming enough, though as always follow your gut feelings, keep to what feels comfortable and if the situation calls for it get staff members at the retreat clued in on anything that does not sit well with you.
The appropriate period of the retreat gets down to time and what you wish from it. Enjoy a Reset in 5 days with an Introduction to Yoga and Meditation. There are five to seven days so more room to settle into creating a rhythm, familiarizing with the practices while taking in and absorbing the deep rest. If you want to create a new habit, reflect on yourself, or restart your life completely—ten or fourteen days may be just what you need. Seven days is easy, and achievable for a lot of newbies. Pick a program that aligns with your schedule, energy levels, travel plans and personal goals.
